The aim of News and Views is to be a forum for discussion.

One of the great pleasures of being at university with other seekers of knowledge is the opportunity to explore ideas and new and different horizons. The world would be a very dull place if we did not at least evaluate different ideas, and then be prepared to justify the reasons why we accept them or not.

This may be particularly important during times of rapid change, such as our own. With change comes volatility, but also excitement and a sense of renewal. The future might be challenging, but it need not be threatening in the light of reason and common sense.
